REGIONAL GRASSROOTS CLINICS (September through May)

The STTA will sponsor Regional Grassroots clinics around the province for clubs who are interested. These clinics are aimed at the beginning players. If you are interested, please contact the STTA.

REGIONAL GRASSROOTS TOURNAMENTS (October through March)

If your school or club is prepared to invite other clubs or schools from your area to facilitate a Regional Grassroots Tournament, you will be eligible to receive a $100.00 grant plus STTA T-shirts for the winners in each category. The STTA will sponsor eight Regional Grassroots Tournaments during the table tennis season on a first come first served basis.

Suggested age categories for these tournaments are boys and girls 11 and under, 13 and under and 15 and under. A third category, boys and girls 18 and under, may be added if there are enough participants.

Guidelines For Regional Grassroots Tournaments

1. In order to qualify for the $100.00 grant , at least two schools must be involved in a larger centre, and at least two other communities must be involved in smaller communities.

2. Tournament draws and results must be sent to the Grassroots Chairperson as soon as possible following the tournament.

3. Please include the age, date of birth, addresses and phone numbers of all players in the tournament.

4. Provincial team members are not eligible to play in Grassroots Tournaments.

The STTA will provide information on hosting a tournament if requested.

NOTE: All Regional Grassroots Tournaments must receive approval of the Grassroots Chairperson, Murray Sproule.
